Dear friends,

Darlene & I went across to Waikato today for the reading of my scan. Unfortunately it was worse than expected.If I could compress a 40 min consultation into a few paragraphs it would sound like this .

The cancer has spread everywhere rapidly over the past 6 months ,particularly in the past month. Without treatment I would be bedridden in a month, there is not much now available for treatment ,he conferred with my private oncologist and with my permission they are going to give me a strong cocktail of drugs beginning on Monday or Tues. I will be infused over a four day period, The chances of success (without divine intervention ) are very low. In fact there is a 10% chance of a one or two year remission ,and a 10% chance the drugs will cause my death. The remaining statistics are for short periods of remission or none. After the first 4 days they will know if the drugs are working ,if they are not, treatment will be discontinued.

We discussed one other option that has only been done once in NZ ,that is to put nuclear radiation markers into Rituxan. I had read about this several years ago, no other cells are damaged only the cancer.Its obviously quite dangerous ,he is investigating the possibility of having it in Auckland .Or I could elect to go to Australia. This would be as a paying customer.I may know by tomorrow about that.

So the news is not great but we dont give up ,"I still believe that nothing is impossible with God" The good news is I have assurance of eternal life, and I dream that all my friends have that, as we will all pass through this valley one day. I love you all so very much, please try not to worry about me ,I don't even worry about myself.
